WHY THIS COURSE

The course the fitness industry
has been missing.

Most fitness professionals are underprepared for the most significant physical transition their clients will ever experience. The Bump Wellness course changes that.

BUMP WELLNESS INTEGRATED PERINATAL FITNESS SPECIALIST

1

Evidence-informed, not fear-based

Grounded in ACOG Committee Opinion 804 (2020), the 2019 Canadian prenatal and 2025 Canadian postpartum physical activity guidelines, and the 2024 international return-to-running consensus. 116 references with DOIs and source links.

2

Scope-clear from the first page

Every chapter ends with a scope-of-practice reminder. You will always know what you can coach, what requires modification, and when to refer.

3

Built for real-world practice

Case studies, intake forms, referral templates, ACOG red flags, and sample training splits. This is a reference manual you will return to after the exam.

4

One course. Nearly your full recertification.

At 1.9 CEUs, this course satisfies nearly the entire NASM/AFAA 2-year recertification requirement of 2.0 CEUs. The only remaining requirement is your CPR/AED.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW.

  • Is this course approved by NASM?

YES. The Bump Wellness Integrated Perinatal Fitness Specialist is approved by both NASM and AFAA. It is worth 1.9 CEUs. Nearly the full NASM 2-year recertification requirement of 2.0 CEUs. The only remaining requirement after this course is your CPR/AED.

  • How long does the course take to complete?

The course is estimated at 19 hours of instructional content. It is self-study, so you complete it entirely at your own pace. Most students complete the reading over 2–3 weeks and then sit for the exam. There is no time limit or expiration date.

  • What format is the course?

This is a home study course delivered as a professionally designed PDF manual. It includes 498 pages of course content, 16 full-color clinical infographics, a complete professional toolkit across eight appendices, and a 100-question final examination. There is no video component; the course is text and visual-based, which means you can read at your own pace, highlight, take notes, and return to any section at any time.

  • What do I need to have before taking this course?

This course is designed for fitness professionals who already hold a foundational certification, such as NASM-CPT, NSCA-CSCS, ACE-CPT, or an equivalent. A basic understanding of exercise science, anatomy, and resistance training programming is assumed. The course builds on that foundation with perinatal-specific clinical knowledge.

  • How does the exam work?

The final examination is 100 multiple-choice questions. It is open-book; you may use your course manual while completing it. A score of 80% or higher is required to pass. You have up to two attempts. Once you pass, your certificate of completion will be issued.

  • Will this course qualify me to train pregnant clients without any other training?

This course provides comprehensive continuing education for fitness professionals. It is one of the most thorough perinatal fitness courses available. However, it is a continuing education course, not a primary certification. You should hold a foundational fitness certification and maintain your scope of practice at all times. The course is explicit about what fitness professionals may and may not do with perinatal clients.

  • What makes this course different from other prenatal fitness courses?

Several things. First, the clinical depth of this course covers everything from the core-pelvic floor canister to criteria-based return-to-running to trauma-informed coaching to ethical marketing, grounded in 116 references with DOIs and source links. Second, the professional toolkit includes the official CSEP Get Active Questionnaires for pregnancy and the postpartum alongside purpose-built intake forms, referral templates, case studies, and clinical decision tools designed for real-world practice. Third, the textbook-quality production runs 498 pages, includes 16 professional clinical infographics, features a full-color design, and comes with a complete reference manual you will use long after the exam. And fourth, scope of practice: every chapter ends with a scope-of-practice reminder. You will always know exactly what you can and cannot do.
